Come, Follow My Eyes

Seeing their faith, Jesus said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you.” Luke 5:20

“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” 2 Chronicles 16:9a

What is the focus of our eyes? Is it our circumstances? Is it our bank account? Is it the relationships on which our existence seem to depend? Or is it towards our Lord who is spotting faith, faith as big as a mustard seed? We can only learn from Jesus how to spot the faith or unbelief of others. In Luke 5, this faith demonstrates itself in love when four friends carry an invalid friend, and broke a roof to lower their paralysed friend.

As we grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ, He transforms our eyes too. Eyes to see what God is doing in our lives and the lives of others. Eyes to see what God has planned for His church in this generation and the ones to come. Eyes to believe the impossible – that the new creation, God’s kingdom – is here in our midst. We are a new creation in Christ!

Prayer:Our Father, we are blind. Darkness encompasses our sight. Only You who is light can remove the blinders so that we can see Your Son. Fix our eyes on Your Son by the illumination of Your Spirit.
