Come, Follow Me As A Friend

“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15

As a friend, Jesus opened His heart and His wisdom to the disciples. Jesus defines friendship as the sharing of life. “All things” Jesus said in the text. Jesus did not keep anything important from His disciples. Just before this text (John 15:12), Jesus even goes on to say that He won’t even keep His life for Himself but give His life for His friends. Jesus demonstrates an all-out friendship that doesn’t hold back.

Truly, what a great friend we have in Jesus! However, Jesus does not just invite us as friends but invites us to befriend others in like manner.
Prayer:Our Father, what intimacy of friendship Your Son gives to us! What generosity! What selflessness! Teach us what friendship looks like because we have no idea about divine friendship. Open our eyes LORD!

  2. Thank you very much for sharing. Your article was very helpful for me to build a paper on gate.io. After reading your article, I think the idea is very good and the creative techniques are also very innovative. However, I have some different opinions, and I will continue to follow your reply.
