“Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19
Jesus is close to His Father, so close that He sees what the Father is doing. Their closeness goes to the extent that Jesus follows “in the like manner”. ‘Like father, like son’ the adage goes. The beauty of this relationship is that it is not a closed relationship nor a relationship by blood. To this relationship, Jesus invites us to be part of His family. He says, “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:50
As Jesus was close to His Father, so Jesus invites us to be closer to the Father too so that you can also see what the Father is doing and do as the Father does in the like manner.
Prayer:Our Father, I want to be closer to You through Your Son by the power of Your Spirit. Thank you for drawing me closer today .
