6 Wonderful Prayers for Dads on This Father’s Day

On this Father’s day, we want to celebrate the fathers and father-figures in our lives who regularly reflect the Lord’s love and compassion for us. Happy Father’s Day to all our dads!

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him

Here are the 6 Prayers:

That God will empower our fathers to lead well their household…

"For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?" 1 Timothy 3:5

That Our fathers are able to command their families after God

"He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him." 1 Timothy 3:4 "I have chosen him to teach his family to obey me forever and to do what is right and fair. If they do, I will give Abraham many descendants, just as I promised." Genesis 18:19

That our fathers will not hinder their children's faith

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord." Ephesians 4:6 "Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged." Colossians 3:21

That our fathers are able to provide for their families

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

That our fathers will leave inheritance for children and grand children

"A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous." Proverbs 13:22

That our fathers will live long to enjoy the blessing of a God-fearing Father

For when you eat the fruit of your labor, blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine flourishing within your house, your like sons and daughters olive shoots sitting around your table...May you live to see your children’s children— peace be on Israel. Psalm 128:3-6

Blessing Our Fathers

“Heavenly Father,
you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers
as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom,
tenderness and patience;
support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender.
Amen.”
