Come Follow Me

“Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:19.

The coming and the following are not aimless. It’s personal – ME. It is not just about His actions or His teachings, even though we are to imitate His actions and obey His teachings. It is HIM, all of Him, calling all of who we are. It is person to person – Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man. Unthinkable that He is both! In our doubt, He calls us closer to touch Him, to touch His wounds (Jn 20:24-29).

Jesus does not call us to an idea of Him or to values about His earthly life that we can apply in our lives. He calls us to Himself. Jesus is alive and calling you and I to come and follow.

Prayer: Our Father, You have sent us Your Son, Jesus Christ. What a marvelous yet unthinkable truth – Immanuel. You are with us O Lord! The Living God is also flesh and blood. Jesus Christ, You have conquered death and rose to have an incorruptible body and life. Draw us close to You!
