Be Rooted and Grounded

Ephesians 3:17 – 19
“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”
There are signs that identify if a plant is growing healthy. In the same way, you can tell if you are growing spiritually healthy or not. How do I know if I am developing a healthy intimacy with Christ?
The Bible says God is love. And God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us (Romans 5:5). Therefore, it becomes our responsibility to deepen ourselves in the love of Christ, which passes descriptions. To be rooted and grounded in love and to express the love of Christ becomes the first sign that we are growing spiritually healthy.
That is to say, the more you know God and the more you stay in His Presence the more lovely you should become. God described Moses as the meekest man on earth. Moses literary transformed after several encounters with God. He wasn’t the Moses he used to be. He was once aggressive, intolerant, and a murderer. But when he came to know the love of God he became selfless.
The purpose of intimacy is not because God wants to enjoy you but God wants you to become more like Him – filled with the fullness of God. Where hatred, bitterness, resentment can’t survive. If you are deficient in this, you need to grow in your intimacy with God.
