The Pursuit of Wisdom

Proverbs 4:7-8
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, she will honor you.
James said, “If anyone lacks wisdom let him ask…” Jesus declared, “…those who seek find…” The way to get wisdom is to hunger for it; to desire it more than silver or gold. Remember the words of our Lord Jesus, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”
Wisdom is more than acquiring knowledge. You can acquire all the knowledge and still know nothing. It is never knowledge only. It is wisdom and knowledge. You may pursue knowledge by books or others but wisdom comes from God.
The wonderful thing about this is that God is very generous with the gift of wisdom. God is so excited to give to everyone who asks of Him. To ask means to declare a dependence on God’s wisdom, to trust His words, to wait on Him, not to lean on your own understanding. We as humans are prone to mistakes but if you seek His wisdom your steps will not be hampered; you will not stumble when you run.
