“Come, follow Me, Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:19
We have always thought of this text wherein we are in the ocean as God beckons us. But the reality of the matter is that the fish is not in the ocean but in the desert, perishing in drought. God will make you fishers of men and women in the desert! We imagine the fish content in their aquarium of death when the reality is that they are dying and headed to final separation from God.
You and I are to be fishers of those that are dying in darkness. We who are brought to light, whose thirst for God’s righteousness is filled by the Living Water, are to proclaim this new life available to all. Would you withhold water from the thirsty? Would you remove someone from the pit of despair? May God’s Spirit fill you to fulfill your purpose in Christ.
Prayer:O Lord, we are Yours and Yours alone. Complete Your claim on my life today. I am waiting. Maranatha!
