In Him

Ephesians 3:12
“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”
When I was very young in faith I tried to figure out in my mind what it meant to be in Christ. I even drew pictures of myself in Jesus. I wanted to grab the concept of being in Christ and be very certain that God was always with me. Now I know better. It is not an imagination. It is a revelation.
Jesus told Peter, “… for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 16: 16-18). When Peter proclaimed: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” As simple as that, Jesus said, “…upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.”
“In Him” means both ‘in Christ as a person’ and ‘in Christ as an agency’ – the only institution or the only way established by God for us to approach and receive from Him. Your faith begins in Christ and works through Him. Faith in His person and through faith in His agency you have access to all the fullness of God (without fear or condemnation) with freedom and confidence.
Pray today that God would open your eye to know: 1) who you are in Him, 2) what you have in Him, and 3) what you can do through Him.
