Follow: A Matter Of Will

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Matthew 6:25

You and I exercise our will as frequently as we worry. The decision we make every time we worry is to focus our will on our circumstances than the One who can make our circumstances aright. Time and time again, the enemy succeeds in distracting God’s children through the worries of life. The parable of the sower provides an appropriate illustration: the worries of life choke one’s will (Matthew 13: 22). We are stuck in our immature faith.

The invitation of Lord Jesus to come and follow Him is an invitation to untangle the worries of life so that we can release our will to do the will of the Father. The ministry of Jesus shows us that He was not encumbered by the needs of people but aligned with the purpose of the Father.

Prayer:Son of the Living God, redeem us from our entanglement in this life. Release us from our bondage so that we may follow You.
