Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29
Walking closely with Jesus gets to a point when we walk on water as Jesus walks on water. In our confusion and doubt, we have to say as Peter says, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You…” Have you been growing in closeness to Jesus that when He seems far, you have to ask Him to bring you closer to Him?
If we had to talk to our fears and insecurities, we would say, “Lord, command me to come to You.” Command me Lord because I’m paralysed on my own, frozen by my fears and doubts. I want You God but I don’t know what to do (Romans 7:15).
Jesus says, “Come!”
Prayer:Our Father, when You seem far away, command me to come to You on the water, in the darkness, through the pain.
