Be Grateful

“But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:

“And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Eph 5:20 Practicing gratitude is a great gain. You are godly when you are grateful and thankful. Of you are ungrateful, it is a clear sign of self-pride. That means you lack the understanding that “we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it (1Timothy 6:7).” Paul, the apostle, was a man of gratitude. He learned to thank God in every circumstance. He was always thankful to God when he saw the growing faith of his converts and their love for one another. He sent a “thank you” letter to friends, partners, and those who assisted him in his missionary work. He mentioned their names and praised them before others. He talked about their great works. He accrued his success to God’s grace and the efforts of others. Are you thankful? Do you think it is your right to have what you have? Do you feel you deserve honor because of your hard work? Do you think you succeeded all by yourself? Are you willing to admit to the truth that you are what you are by the grace of God and not by your work?

 Let us pray…
